The Danville International Children’s Film Festival opened Friday May 15, 2009 with a VIP reception that included Nancy Cartwright, best known as the voice of Bart Simpson. Raini Rodriguez, co-star in the 2009 movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Charlie Chaplin (performer Robert Martin) and the mayor of Danville, Newell Arnerich.
Nancy Cartwright received the festival’s 2009 Humanitarian Award before the showing of The Simpsons Movie (2007). After the movie, Nancy entertained the audience with a Q and A session.
The festival will continue until Sunday May 17.
